SYDNEY BASIN
The Sydney Basin is located on the east coast of New south Wales. It is a geographical area , which due to it's particular topography and local weather conditions shares the same air.Sydney Basin's typography causes Katabatic winds at night which trap air pollution under the warm layer of air, due to its location being so close to to the ground it makes it difficult for the temperature to rise causing a temperature inversion, also this trap the pollutants in the basin , as they are unable to rise and be removed from the basin.
Particular areas with higher levels of air pollution include ; the Parramatta River region , Port Botany ,Kurnell and suburbs which are situated close to the Airport.
